Data ManagementData Management is one of the biggest challenges in prestack interpretation and data processing. There is no single solution that works in every case, so Headwave's data management core components are flexible and allows for customization.
Features
Non-duplication of data - Considering the size of prestack data, it is vital not to duplicate data to save storage and memory. Headwave uses an data file/structure format for internal operations and does not per se introduce a new data format to interoperate with, but can instead rely on data to be provided as SEGY or proprietary processing formats. Headwaves compressed format makes data available for viewing, attribute extraction, and attribute comparison.
Multi Dimensional Data - the Headwave data model natively supports multi dimensional data so that the data can be viewed and processed without requiring resorting of data.
Support for Compressed Multi Resolution Data - To facilitate fast data access, data visualization, attribute calculation, and more, Headwave solution generates additional derived data. All derived data can be treated as temporary cache, as the Headwave products will maintain the links and integrity to the original data sources and rebuild the derived data if and when needed.
Meta Data and Header Information - All Headwave applications are meta-data aware, and will maintain the integrity of the header information throughout the workflows.
Local & Remotely Located (Distributed) Data - All Headwave applications can work off local data and remotely stored data. Headwave supports all POSIX compliant filesystems and the Microsoft Windows NTFS filesystem. To facilitiate parallel data loading and processing, Headwave has native support for distributed data.
